The Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India is developing a National Legal Metrology Portal (eMAP) to integrate State Legal Metrology Departments and their portals into an integrated national system.
The objective of this initiative is to simplify the processes for issuance of licenses, verification and management of enforcement and compliance.
Having a centralized database will eliminate the need for eMAP stakeholders to register on multiple state portals, thereby facilitating ease of doing business and also promoting transparency in business regulations.
