  • Aam Aadmi Party's Shelly Oberoi won the Delhi Mayor elections. 
  • She defeated Rekha Gupta, nominated candidate of BJP. 
  • Shelly Oberoi received 150 vote while Rekha Gupta got 116 seats. 
  • Shelly Oberoi became the city's first woman mayor in 10 years.
  • The AAP had bagged 134 seats and BJP got 104 seats while Congress bagged nine seats in the MCD polls.
  • The 39-year-old has studied management from IIM, Kozhikode.
  • Shelly Oberoi has been associated with AAP since 2014 and named the vice president of party's Mahila Morcha in 2020.
