  • According to the Oxford Economics’ Global Cities Index 2024, Delhi is ranked 350th among the world's largest 1,000 cities, making it the highest-ranked Indian city.
  • New York City, USA, topped the 2024 Index, followed by London, UK, in second place and San Jose, USA, in third.
  • The index evaluates 1,000 cities from 163 countries, which collectively accounted for 60% of global GDP in 2023.
  • Cities are assessed based on 27 indicators across five categories: Economics (30%), Human Capital (25%), Quality of Life (25%), Environment (10%), and Governance (10%).
  • The cities are classified into regions: North America (103), Western Europe (141), Central America and the Caribbean (46), Middle East and North Africa (62), South America (63), Sub-Saharan Africa (86), Eastern Europe and Central Asia (107), Southern Asia (137), East Asia (205), and Oceania (12).
