  • DD Kisan, the public broadcaster of the Government of India, Doordarshan's channel has announced the launch of two artificial intelligence (AI) anchors, Krish and Bhumi on 26 May 2024.
  • These AI anchors will disseminate information related to the latest prices of agricultural markets, weather updates and the latest research done in agriculture in India and abroad.
  • AI anchors can speak in 50 languages and broadcast news 24 hours a day, 365 days a day without stopping or tiring.
  • DD Kisan was launched on 26th May 2015 and is celebrating its 9th year of establishment.
  • The world's first AI news anchor was introduced in 2018 by Chinese state news agency Xinhua, named Qiu Hao.
  • The first AI news anchor in India, Sana, was introduced by the India Today Group on Aaj Tak Hindi News Channel in 2023.
  • Sana looks like a human being and can read data from a computer using text-to-speech technology, which till date has been used to deliver news updates several times a day on the channel.
