The first cyclonic storm of the 2025 post-monsoon season, Cyclone Shakti, named by Sri Lanka, has intensified into a severe cyclonic storm in the Arabian Sea, the IMD reported. It was about 210 km southeast of Ras Al Hadd, Oman, moving west-southwest at 15 kmph with winds of 100 kmph. A yellow alert has been issued for Mumbai, Thane, and Raigad, warning of rough seas and light to moderate rainfall.
