COP stands for Conference of Parties.
This is a global climate change summit.
COP – 28 is being organized in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
It will be organized till 12th December.
Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, has been appointed President of COP - 28.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is representing India in this conference.
The COP is organized by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
UNFCCC was formed in the year 1994.
The first conference (COP – 1) was held in Berlin in the year 1995.
COP – 27 was held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt in November, 2023.
