  • Recently, Colonel Sunita has become the first woman to command the Armed Forces Transfusion Centre.
  • Armed Forces Transfusion Center is located in New Delhi.
  • Prior to this, she served as the Commanding Officer of a strategically important field hospital in Arunachal Pradesh.
  • Presently Colonel Sunita has been given the responsibility of managing AFTC, the largest blood transfusion center of the armed forces.
  • It has state-of-the-art facilities in the field of transfusion medicine including stem cell cryopreservation, fully automated immuno-hematology analyzer.
