The Collins Dictionary has named NFT, an abbreviation for a non-fungible token, as the word of the year 2021.
According to the Collins Dictionary, an NFT is a "unique digital certificate, registered in a blockchain that is used to record the ownership of an asset such as an artwork or a collectible."
NFT is one of the most popular bits of fintech Babble to beautify pages and screens, and it continues to be a topic of discussion with terms like "Crypto" and "Metaverse".
The Oxford English Dictionary had already named ‘VAX’ the word of the year last month.
