Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy virtually launched the 14th round of commercial coal mine auctions in New Delhi, aimed at boosting ease of doing business and attracting investment. For the first time, provisions for Underground Coal Gasification (UCG) have been included to extract deep-seated coal reserves. The Minister also launched the Koyla Shakti Dashboard for real-time coal supply tracking and the CLAMP Portal to digitize land acquisition and compensation processes. The auction offers a mix of fully and partially explored coal blocks, promoting transparency, innovation, and wider participation in India’s growing coal sector.
