China has successfully begun pre-service trials of the CR450 bullet train, setting a world record speed of 450 km/h (281 mph) on the Shanghai–Chongqing–Chengdu high-speed rail line. The CR450 features major design upgrades including a 15-meter aerodynamic nose, enclosed bogies, and lightweight structure, reducing drag and improving efficiency. It can accelerate from 0 to 350 km/h in just 4 minutes 40 seconds, nearly 100 seconds faster than the CR400 Fuxing. The CR450 is expected to enter commercial service in 2026, solidifying China’s leadership in global high-speed rail innovation.
