  • Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare released a commemorative Postal Stamp on COVID-19 Vaccine to mark the 1st anniversary of India's National Covid-19 Vaccination program.
  • The stamp shows a health worker inoculating a senior citizen with Covaxin.
  • India's collective fight against Covid pandemic began on January 16 last year with the vaccination drive across the nation.
  • Covaxin is one of the two mainstays of India’s immunisation programme against Covid-19, along with Covishield. 
  • It was developed by Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech International Limited and Serum Institute of India Private Limited in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research.
