The Union government has extended the tenure of senior advocate KK Venugopal as the Attorney General (AG) for three more months.
Venugopal’s tenure was to end on June 30.
Venugopal, 91, was appointed by the President as Attorney General for India in July 2017 for a three-year term. His term was subsequently extended twice for a year each.
The 15th person to serve as Attorney General for India, he had succeeded Mukul Rohatgi, who was the Attorney General from June 2014 to June 2017.
