The Centre has approved the formation of a new Rajya Sainik Board for Ladakh. The Board will serve as a vital liaison between the Centre and the Ladakh Administration.
The newly formed Rajya Sainik Board will oversee the operations of Leh and Kargil's zila sainik welfare offices.
The Rajya Sainik Board will act as advisory on matters relating to ex-servicemen including serving soldiers and their dependents, kin of war martyrs, and non-combatants.
The Rajya Sainik Board's welfare schemes will benefit the Ladakh Scouts Regiment Center to the greatest extent possible.
