Rahul Singh, a senior bureaucrat and a 1996-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Bihar cadre, has been appointed as the new chairperson of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
He will succeed Nidhi Chhibber, who has been designated as Advisor in the Niti Aayog, a premier policy think tank of the Government of India.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved Singh's appointment, marking a significant change in the leadership of CBSE, which oversees the education system for millions of students across India.
