  • Renowned Carnatic vocalist & the Padma Bhushan awardee T.V. Sankaranarayanan passed away at the age of 77 in September 2022.
  • He won the Sangita Kalanidhi award of the Music Academy in 2003.
  • In 2003, the Central Govt also conferred on him Padma Bhushan.
  • He was considered the torch-bearer of the Madurai Mani Iyer style of singing and technique.
