The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has given its approval to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to formally submit India’s bid for hosting the Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2030. Ahmedabad has been highlighted as the “ideal host city” due to its modern stadiums, advanced training facilities, and vibrant sporting culture. The Games, if awarded to India, will feature athletes from 72 Commonwealth nations competing in multiple sporting events.
