The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) has signed an agreement with IIT Roorkee and IIT Mandi to develop 'Cell-Free' 6G Access Points, marking a significant step in advancing indigenous 6G technology.
The collaboration focuses on eliminating traditional cell boundaries by deploying multiple access points across vast regions, which is expected to enhance connectivity and coverage for broadband and mobile services.
Supported by the Telecom Technology Development Fund (TTDF) scheme, this initiative aims to bridge the digital divide in India by making broadband and mobile services more affordable and accessible to a broader population.
