BSNL is set to launch nationwide 4G services in August, leveraging completely indigenous technology. This move highlights India's progress in developing advanced telecom infrastructure domestically.
BSNL officials have reported peak speeds of 40-45 megabits per second (Mbps) on the 4G network during testing. This indicates a promising user experience with reliable and high-speed internet connectivity across the country.
TCS, Tejas Networks, and government-owned ITI have secured contracts worth Rs 19,000 crore from BSNL for deploying the 4G network, which is also designed to be upgradable to 5G.
These partnerships signify collaborative efforts to enhance India's telecommunications capabilities through public-private cooperation.
