Bolivia has elected Rodrigo Paz, a center-right candidate from the Christian Democratic Party, as president, ending two decades of socialist rule. Paz won with 54.6% of the vote, defeating former interim leader Jorge “Tuto” Quiroga. The 58-year-old promises a “capitalism for all” model focused on decentralization, lower taxes, fiscal discipline, and continued social support. Facing a deep economic crisis, Paz vowed to restore stability, unity, and global ties, marking a major political shift after years under Evo Morales’s socialist policies.
