It is situated as a 'buffer state' between India and China.
Recently Bhutan has become the first country in the world to sterilize stray dogs.
Bhutan has been running a dog sterilization campaign for 14 years to control the population of stray dogs.
Humane Society International was helped in this campaign.
Bhutan's Prime Minister Lotay Tshering announced the completion of the National Dog Population Management and Rabies Control Project.
This project was started in the year 2009.
The capital of Bhutan is Thimphu.
