In Gandhinagar, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel released the Gujarati biography “Vishwaguru Srila Prabhupada”, based on the life of A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, Founder-Acharya of International Society for Krishna Consciousness.
The book highlights how Srila Prabhupada spread Vedic wisdom and the message of Lord Krishna globally despite immense hardships. On his 150th birth anniversary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi honoured him with a commemorative coin and postal stamp.
Speakers recalled how, at 70, he sailed to America with minimal resources and established over 108 Krishna temples worldwide. The event also highlighted the work of The Akshaya Patra Foundation, which today serves 23.5 lakh children daily across India, including 5 lakh in Gujarat. The programme celebrated Srila Prabhupada’s spiritual legacy and humanitarian service through global outreach and food distribution initiatives.
