  • Indian ace fencer CA Bhavani Devi won a gold medal at the Commonwealth Fencing Championship 2022 in the Senior Women's Sabre Individual category.
  • She defeated Veronika Vasileva of Australia 15-10 to win the title in London.
  • She won 15-10 against Vasileva in the Sabre final.
  • Notably, Devi has bagged the title second time as she won gold in the same event back in 2019.
  • The Chennai-based fencer has had an illustrious career so far as she scripted history by becoming the only Indian fencer to qualify for Tokyo Olympics. She successfully reached the quarter-final of the 2020 Fencing World Cup in Hungary.
