England and Arsenal winger Beth Mead has won the BBC Sports Personality of the Year after winning the Women's Euros and tournament Golden Boot in 2022.
The 27-year-old Mead has become the first female soccer player to win the award.
She was also chosen as UEFA's player of the tournament.
Ben Stokes, the captain of the English cricket team, gymnast Jessica Gadirova, and runner Jake Wightman were among the nominations.
Emma Raducanu won the award in 2021, meaning that two women have won the award back-to-back for the first time after 50 years.
