  • President of the Board of Cricket in India (BCCI), Sourav Ganguly has been named Chairman of the International Cricket Council's men's cricket committee.
  • Ganguly will replace his Indian teammate Anil Kumble, who has resigned after three separate three-year terms.
  • Ganguly is widely regarded as one of India's most successful captains and one of the best batsmen of his generation.
  • He was the President of the Cricket Association of Bengal between 2015 and 2019 and took over as the BCCI President in October 2019.
  • The board also approved that the first-class status and List ‘A’ qualification for women's cricket will be implemented in the same manner as the men's game. The ICC Women's Committee will further be known as the ICC Women's Cricket Committee.
  • Johnny Grave, CEO of Cricket West Indies has been appointed to the ICC Women’s Cricket Committee.
