Basic animal husbandry data for the year 2023 was released by the Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Shri Parshottam Rupala in November.
According to these data, the annual level of milk production has increased by 22.81 percent in the last five years.
According to the report, the highest milk producing state is Uttar Pradesh.
Uttar Pradesh's share in total milk production is 15.72 percent.
Rajasthan is at second place with 14.44 percent milk production.
Madhya Pradesh is the third largest milk producing state and Gujarat is the fourth largest milk producing state.
Andhra Pradesh has been the major contributor to the total egg production of the country, whose share in the total egg production is 20.13 percent.
Tamil Nadu is at second place and Telangana is at third place in egg production.
Uttar Pradesh tops the list with 12.20 percent share in total meat production.
West Bengal is the second largest meat producing state and Maharashtra is the third largest meat producing state.
Rajasthan ranks first and Jammu and Kashmir ranks second in wool production.
