Frank Borman was an American astronaut.
He passed away recently.
He led the Apollo 8 lunar mission.
He created history by leading the first manned mission to enter the lunar orbit.
He led two NASA missions that also included the establishment of critical infrastructure for the lunar landing in 1969.
Together with astronaut James Lovell Jr., he set the record for the longest stay in space in December 1965.
He made this record with 'Gemini 7' spacecraft.
Apollo 8 was the second manned spaceflight mission of the United States Apollo space program.
A three-man astronaut team was formed consisting of Frank Borman, James Lovell and William Anders.
Frank Borman was the first person to observe the far side of the Moon, orbit another celestial body and take photographs of 'Earthrise'.
