  • Under the Atmanirbhar Bharat mission, Ashok Leyland has collaborated with Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment (CVRDE), a premier lab of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), to develop and manufacture a 600-HP indigenous engine to power futuristic combat vehicles.
  • The 600-HP engine will be put through rigorous testing in the lab before being approved for use in tanks. Ashok Leyland will mass-produce the engine after it is put into service.
  • This collaboration will power futuristic combat vehicles as part of the Atma Nirbhar Bharat mission.
