  • The Government of India has decided to hand over the command of Punjab National Bank to Ashok Chandra. 
  • The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) has approved his appointment.
  • With this, the way has been cleared for his appointment to the post of new MD and CEO of PNB.
  • Ashok Chandra is currently posted as Executive Director of Canara Bank. He will replace Atul Kumar Goel, who is scheduled to retire on December 31, 2024.
