Aryna Sabalenka became the first woman in over a decade to defend her Australian Open singles title.
She defeated China’s Zheng Qinwen in the final, winning 6-3, 6-2 in just 76 minutes.
Sabalenka, the world number two from Belarus, claimed her second Grand Slam crown on Rod Laver Arena.
The last successful women’s title defense at the Australian Open was achieved by Victoria Azarenka in 2013.
