In a historic development, Armenia and Azerbaijan signed a peace agreement at the White House on August 8, 2025, in the presence of U.S. President Donald Trump. The deal seeks to end decades of hostilities in the South Caucasus and includes provisions to reopen key transportation links. One major outcome is the creation of an international transit corridor, to be called the ‘Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity,’ symbolizing U.S. diplomatic influence amid Russia’s waning regional power.
