  • The Uttar Pradesh government has appointed Aparna Yadav as vice-chairperson of the women's commission, Babita Chauhan as the new chairperson and Charu Chaudhary has also been made vice-president.
  • Aparna Yadav, the daughter-in-law of Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav and sister-in-law of Akhilesh Yadav, joined the BJP in January 2022.
  • Governor Anandiben Patel has approved these appointments.
