Andhra Pradesh has secured India’s largest integrated lithium-ion battery Gigafactory, to be built by Waaree Energies at Rambilli in Anakapalli district with an investment of ₹8,175 crore. The facility, with a 16 GWh production capacity, is expected to generate around 3,000 direct jobs and strengthen India’s domestic battery manufacturing ecosystem.
The greenfield Gigafactory will cover the entire battery value chain, including cell production, battery pack assembly, and large-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The project aligns with Andhra Pradesh’s Integrated Clean Energy Policy and aims to reduce import dependence, support renewable energy storage, promote electric vehicles, and enhance energy security.
