Recently the Government of Arunachal Pradesh has announced that all the schools of the state before its independence will be declared as heritage schools.
The announcement was made by Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu.
As a heritage school, special attention will be given to the development of a museum as well as infrastructure within the campus.
It will be started from Government Secondary School, Pasighat.
This school was established in the year 1946.
In January 1972, Arunachal Pradesh was given the status of Union Territory.
It was granted statehood in February 1987.
Its capital is Itanagar.
