  • Ajit Doval will continue serving as the National Security Advisor (NSA) in the Narendra Modi-led NDA government. 
  • The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved his reappointment, effective from June 10, 2024. 
  • Doval, a 1968 batch IPS officer and a renowned counter-terrorism expert, has been serving as NSA since May 2014.
  • The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has reappointed P.K. Mishra as the Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Additionally, Amit Khare and Tarun Kapoor, both retired IAS officers, have been appointed as advisers to the Prime Minister. 
  • These appointments support PM Modi as he begins his third consecutive term in office, having taken the oath on June 9, 2024.
