On 24 December 2024, Isaac Velu AK was elected as the new Prime Minister of Tonga, who received 16 votes, while his rival Williamy Latu received 8 votes.
Isaek Veloo AK will be formally sworn in as Prime Minister in February 2025, and will lead the country until November 2025.
