South African batter Aiden Markram has been appointed as the new skipper of the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) team for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season.
Markram takes over from former New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson, who was released by the franchise after last season.
Earlier, he was the captain of the Sunrisers Eastern Cape. It won the inaugural edition of the SA20th League this month.
South African batsman has scored 381 runs in IPL 2022 at an average of 47.63 with a strike-rate of over 139 with three fifties.
