In November 2023, Switzerland's Swiss Air Quality Technology Company released the IQ AIR report.
According to this report, the country's capital Delhi has become the most polluted city in the world.
Delhi's air quality index has been measured at 492.
At second place is Lahore of Pakistan whose air quality index is 381.
Kolkata is at third place and Dhaka is at fourth place.
China's Shenyang is at fifth place and Mumbai is at sixth place.
3 of the top 10 most polluted cities are from India.
The concentration of fine particulate matter, PM 2.5, in Delhi is 523 milligrams per cubic metre.
This concentration is 104 times more than the World Health Organization standard.
