  • Recently, the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare released the data of food grain production in the country.
  • According to these figures, food grain production in the country is expected to reach a record level of 3297 lakh tonnes.
  • This is 141 lakh tonnes more than the food grain production of the year 2022-23.
  • Rice production this year is expected to be around 1350 lakh tonnes.
  • Wheat production will be around 1100 lakh tonnes.
  • The total production of pulses is estimated to be around 260 lakh tonnes.
  • The production of coarse grains will be 573 lakh tonnes.
  • The production of maize will be around 380 lakh tonnes, gram 122 lakh tonnes and groundnut 102 lakh tonnes.
