24-year-old Chennai-based chess player A Ra Harikrishnan achieved his third and final GM norm at the La Plagne International Chess Festival in France, earning the Grandmaster (GM) title. His previous norms were earned at the Biel International Chess Festival (Switzerland, July 2023) and Andujar Open (Spain). Along with three GM norms, Harikrishnan also achieved the required 2500 FIDE rating, fulfilling all criteria to become India’s 87th Grandmaster.
