  • The 96th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan, the prestigious literary summit began in Wardha district of Maharashtra.
  • The Sammelan was inaugurated in the presence of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, School Education and Marathi language minister Deepak Kesarkar and other dignitaries in Sahitya Nagari in Wardha.
  • The literary meet has been organised by Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Mahamandal in its centenary year by Vidarbha Sahitya Sangh (VSS), for which a grand Sahitya Nagari has come alive in the premises of Swawalambi Shikshan Mahamandal.
  • The first Marathi sahitya sammelan was held in pune in 1878 under the chairmanship of Justice Mahadev Govind Ranade.
