The 96th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan, the prestigious literary summit began in Wardha district of Maharashtra.
The Sammelan was inaugurated in the presence of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, School Education and Marathi language minister Deepak Kesarkar and other dignitaries in Sahitya Nagari in Wardha.
The literary meet has been organised by Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Mahamandal in its centenary year by Vidarbha Sahitya Sangh (VSS), for which a grand Sahitya Nagari has come alive in the premises of Swawalambi Shikshan Mahamandal.
The first Marathi sahitya sammelan was held in pune in 1878 under the chairmanship of Justice Mahadev Govind Ranade.
