India's 17-year-old Grandmaster Gukesh D has become India's number one chess player.
He has overtaken Viswanathan Anand. Gukesh's current live rating in Classic chess is 2755.9, while Anand's is 2754.0.
This comes after Gukesh D qualified for the third round of FIDE World Cup by defeating Azerbaijani Grandmaster Misratdin Iskandarov.
