The 11th edition of Exercise EKUVERIN-21, a joint exercise between India and the Maldives, was held on Kadhdhoo Island in the Maldives.
In the Dhivehi language (Maldivian language), Ekuverin means "Friends."
It is a language of the Indo-Aryan family. It's spoken in India, the Maldives, and Lakshadweep.
The exercise improves the Armed Forces of both countries' synergy and interoperability in terms of comprehending transnational terrorism on land and at sea, executing Counter-Terrorism and Counter-Insurgency Operations, and sharing best military practices and experiences.
