AISSEE(All India Sainik School Entrance Exam) is an entrance test for candidates who are seeking admission to Sainik schools for classes 6th and 9th. 

Sainik Schools Society (SSS) is an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Defence, Govt of India. The Society runs Sainik Schools. Sainik Schools are English medium residential schools affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Sainik Schools prepare Cadets to join the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla (Pune), Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala and other Training Academies for officers. At present there are a total of 33 Sainik Schools across the country.

Sainik Schools offer admission at the level of Class VI and Class IX. Admission is based on the performance of candidates in the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE).

Selection of applicants will be made on the basis of their marks obtained in the written entrance exam in the All India Sainik School Entrance Exam (AISSEE). Sainik Schools are residential schools (for only boys) that are affiliated with CBSE. The purpose of Sainik schools is to prepare Cadets to join the National Defence Academy. It enables boys from economically weaker sections of society to take up an illustrious career as officers in the Armed Forces of the Nation and other celebrated professions.

    Age: Between 10-12 years of age, as on 31.03.2025.

    *Should be born between 01.04.2013 and 31.03.2015 (Both days inclusive).

    • The mode of examination will be an offline or pen-and-paper-based exam.

    • The question booklet provided to you will be multiple-choice or objective type.

    • There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers.

    • A candidate is eligible for admission to the Sainik Schools if he or she scores at least 25% in each subject of the exam and 40% in the aggregate of all AISSEE 2025 subjects.

    • Minimum qualifying standards are not given for SC/ST students because they would be admitted based on inter-se merit.

    HOW TO APPLY FOR AISSEE-2025.

    A candidate can apply for AISSEE-2025, online only at

    https://exams.nta.ac.in/AISSEE/. Candidates are advised to: -

    (a) Read the Information Bulletin carefully and ensure that they fulfill the eligibility

    requirements before applying.

    (b) Go through Appendix ‘VI’ of the Information Bulletin on tentative vacancies in thevarious Sainik Schools. Even though vacancies may not be available in a specific category vacancies may arise subsequently due to withdrawal of cadets on various grounds. In case no vacancy is available in a specified category, the candidates will be considered for admission in General category. Thus, registration will be accepted for all the categories irrespective of school, domicile and category. However, no candidate has the right to claim that admission be granted in the specified category as he/she had applied for the same.

    (c) Keep all required information such as scanned documents of photographs,signature, left hand thumb impression, birth certificate issued by the Municipal Committee/Board/Corporation or Registrar of Births and Death, school certificate,domicile certificate, caste certificates, service certificate as applicable, ID proof,credit/debit card for making payments, mobile phones for getting OTPs, etc before applying online so that the relevant document can be promptly uploaded.
