Bihar SI Prohibition 2026: Notification, Online Application, Exam Pattern, Vacancies, Imp. Dates

The Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) has officially released the notification (Advt No. 03/2026) for the recruitment of Sub-Inspector (SI) Prohibition within the Prohibition, Excise & Registration Department for 78 Posts.

The Bihar Police Sub-Inspector Prohibition 2025 recruitment has officially commenced with the detailed notification released on February 25th, 2025. This recruitment drive aims to fill 28 Sub Inspector Prohibition positions. The Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) is currently recruiting for 78 Sub-Inspector (Prohibition) posts under Advt No. 03/2026. Applicants must be between 20 and 37 years old (with relaxations for women and reserved categories) as of August 1, 2025. The selection process follows a rigorous path through a Preliminary exam, a Main exam, and a Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Successfully recruited officers will join at Pay Level-6, with a salary scale of ₹35,400 to ₹1,12,400.

Selection Process:

The selection journey is divided into five distinct stages:

Prelims Exam: 200 marks (General Knowledge & Current Affairs).

Mains Exam: Two papers (General Hindi and General Studies).

Physical Test (PET/PST): Running, High Jump, Long Jump, and Shot Put.

Document Verification: Checking original educational and category certificates.

Medical Examination: Final health clearance for service.

BPSSC Sub Inspector SI Prohibition Eligibility:

To be eligible for the 2026 recruitment, candidates must fulfill the BPSSC Sub Inspector SI Prohibition Eligibility criteria, which include age limits, educational qualifications, and other requirements specified by the authorities.

Age Limit (as of 01.08.2025): * Minimum: 20 years

Maximum: 37 years (General/EWS Male), 40 years (General/EWS Female & BC/EBC), 42 years (SC/ST).

Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree (Graduation) in any stream from a recognized university (as of August 1, 2025).
