The SBI PO Exam or State Bank of India Probationary Officer Exam is a national-level examination held once a year. The SBI conducted an SBI PO Exam to select eligible candidates for the positions of Probationary Officer. Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria can apply for the SBI PO exam online using the official website. For the SBI PO 2025 exam, candidate’s applicants should be from 21 years to 30 years. The exam of SBI PO is divided into the three phases - preliminary exam, mains exam, and Interview or Interview . Applicants who pass these exams will be posted as PO or Probationary Officers in various branches of the SBI bank. SBI PO exam syllabus for preliminary examination contains the English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability, while the mains examination divided into two sections, first is Objective Type and the second one is descriptive type. For mains objective syllabus includes English, Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, General/ Economy/ Banking Awareness and Data Analysis & Interpretation and for mains descriptive type syllabus includes Letter writing and essay. Applicants must pay Rs. 750 for General/OBC/ EWS candidates and exempted for SC/ST/PWD candidates to fill out the application form for the SBI PO 2025 exam. Essential Academic Qualifications (as on 30.09.2025):
Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
Those who are in the Final Year/ Semester of their Graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for interview, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before 30.09.2025.
Candidates having Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before 30.09.2025.
Candidates possessing qualifications such as Medical, Engineering, Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant etc. would also be eligible.
Age Limit: (As on 01.04.2025):
Not below 21 years and not above 30 years as on 01.04.2025 i.e. candidates must have been born not later than 01.04.2004 and not earlier than 02.04.1995 (both days inclusive).

Scheme of SBI PO Selection Procedure:
The procedure of recruitment will be divided into three phases:
• Phase-I: Preliminary Exam
• Phase-II: Mains Exam
• Phase-III: Group Exercise & Interview.
SBI PO Phase-I: Preliminary Examinations

SBI PO Phase-II: Mains Examinations
The main examination will be held online and will consist of 200 marks Objective Tests and a 50 marks Descriptive Test.

Important Note:

(B) DESCRIPTIVE TYPE
The English Language (Letter Writing & Essay) Test will consist of a 30-minute descriptive test with two questions for 50 marks.
**Candidates will be required to type their answers to the Descriptive Test on a computer. The Descriptive Test will be given immediately following the completion of the Objective Test**.
SBI PO Phase-III: Interview or Group Excercise
Phase-III may consist of
(i) Interview will be 50 marks OR
(ii) Interview & Group Exercises will be 30 marks & 20 marks respectively.
Candidates must achieve minimum qualifying marks in Phase-III to be considered for final selection. The minimum qualifying marks will be determined by the Bank.
Final Selections:
The candidates will have to qualify both in Phase-II and Phase-III separately. The marks obtained in Main Examination(Phase-II), both in the Objective Test and the Descriptive Test, will be added to the marks obtained in Phase-III for preparing the final merit list.The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination (Phase-I) will not be added for preparing the final merit list for selection.

Fee Payable by Candidates for SBI PO Exam:
GEN/ EWS/ OBC candidates: Rs. 750/-
SC/ST/PWBD/ candidates: Nil

Mode of Payment:
After registration candidates are required to pay the requisite application fee through online mode by using debit card/ credit card/ Internet Banking/UPI etc.

i. Scan the following documents as per guidelines in Annexure-II:
– Photograph
– Signature
– Left-hand thumb impression
– Hand-written declaration
ii. Hand-written declaration text:
“I ________ (Name of the candidate), ________ (Date of Birth) hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required. The signature, photograph and left-hand thumb impression is of mine.”
iii. If left-hand thumb impression is not possible, use right-hand thumb impression.
iv. Visit Bank's website: https://bank.sbi/web/careers/current-openings
Open the Online Application Form under 'Current Openings'.
v. Fill the application form carefully.
Submit the data once the form is complete.
If unable to complete in one go, save the entered data.
A provisional registration number and password will be generated.
Note down the registration number and password safely.
Use them to reopen and edit the saved form if required.
Before final submission, review the application carefully.
No changes will be allowed after final submission.
Registration at this stage is provisional.
vi. After checking all details, proceed to pay the fee through the payment gateway.
Follow on-screen instructions to complete payment.
vii. Use Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Internet Banking/ UPI for payment.
Provide the required details as asked.
Any transaction charges will be borne by the candidate.
viii. After successful payment, e-receipt and application form will be generated.
Print and keep them for your record.
ix. If the transaction fails, register again and make the payment online.
x. Reprint of e-receipt and application form with fee details is available later.
xi. Do not send the printed application form to the Bank.
