Summary

The Reserve Bank of India, or RBI, is the country's central bank. Every year, the organization holds recruitment exams to fill various positions. The exam is held to direct recruit RBI Officers Grade B in Combined Seniority Group (CSG) streams. For the RBI Officer Grade B exam, candidates must be between the ages of 21 and 30 years.

RBI Grade B exam has a three-phase selection process for Officer Grade B (General). For RBI Officer Grade B (General) candidates must clear Phase-I, Phase-II of the exam, and the final interview process. 

Candidates who pass all these selection procedures will be considered for the RBI Officer Grade B positions in its various branches all across the country. The RBI Officer Grade B Exam 2024 will be held online as a computer-based examination and offline as a descriptive (pen and paper mode).

    Eligibility Criteria

    Essential Educational Qualifications (as on July 01, 2024): 

    RBI Officer Grade B (General)

    Graduation in any discipline/professional qualification or equivalent technical with at least 60 percent marks (50 percent for SC/ST/PwBD candidates) or Post-Graduation/Equivalent technical qualification with at least 55 percent marks (passing marks for SC/ST/PwBD candidates) in aggregate of all semesters/years.

    Note: 

    Graduation Level

    Any such course from a recognised University / Institute that is taken after Class XII and is at least of 3 years’ duration/ candidates possessing professional or technical qualifications which are recognised by the Government as equivalent to professional or technical graduation will be eligible for admission to the examination, subject to obtaining minimum marks prescribed above.

    Post-Graduation Level

    Any such course from a recognised University / Institute that is taken after Graduation and is at least of 2 years’ duration / recognised by the Government as equivalent to professional or technical Post-graduation will be eligible for admission to the examination, subject to obtaining minimum marks prescribed above.

    Number of Attempts: 

    A general category candidate may apply for the RBI Grade B Phase-I test a maximum of six times. There is no attempt limit for applicants from the EWS, OBC, SC, ST, and PwBD categories.

    Age Limit (As on July 01, 2024):

    A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on July 01, 2024 i.e., he/she must have been born not earlier than July 02, 1994 and not later than July 01, 2003.

    The following are the permissible upper age limit relaxations and category-codes for claiming age relaxation:

    Exam Pattern

    Scheme of RBI Office Grade B Selection Procedure:

    The recruitment process will be divided into the following phases:

    FOR RBI Officer Grade B (General)

    Important Note:

    I. The question papers will be of the multiple option type.

    II. One mark has been allotted for each question.

    III. The questions will be written in both Hindi and English.

    IV. Each test will be given its separate time slot.

    V. Candidates must get the minimum marks prescribed by the Board for each test individually as well as in aggregate

    Important Note:

    I. The questions will be written in both Hindi and English.

    Interview:

    Applicants will be shortlisted for interviews based on the sum of their Phase-II marks (Paper-I + Paper-II + Paper-III). The Board shall determine the minimal aggregate cut-off marks for being shortlisted for an interview based on the number of vacancies. The interview will be worth 75 points.

    Before presenting for the interview, the candidate must pass a psychometric test conducted by the bank. There will be no scores awarded for this, and it will not be considered as part of the final selection criterion. The candidate has the option of having the interview in Hindi or English. The final selection will be made using a merit list created by aggregating the marks obtained by applicants in the Phase-II examination and interview, as well as any grace marks that may be available under current guidelines.

    Fee Payable by Candidates for RBI Officer Grade B Exam:

    All Other Category’s: Rs. 850/-

    SC/ST/PWBD/ candidates : Rs.100/-

    *Staff candidates are exempted from payment of examination fee and intimation charges.*

     

    Mode of Payment:

    The payment can be made by using Debit Cards (RuPay/ Visa/ MasterCard/ Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets by providing information as asked on the screen. Bank Transaction charges for Online Payment of application fees/ intimation charges will have to be borne by the candidate.

    • At the top of the page, select the Opportunities area.

    • Click on the current vacancies section to open a new tab.

    • Select "RBI Officer Grade B Recruitment 2021" from the given link.

    • Now, select "Application Form" from the given link.

    • A new tab will appear, requesting your registration.

    • Select New Registration from the given link.

    • Complete the form with the right information from your official documents.

    • Save the file and then submit a scanned photo and signature image.

    • Before pressing the submit button, double-check all of your information.

    • Finally, pay the application cost that corresponds to your category.

    • Paying the application fee online with a debit/credit card, mobile wallet, or net banking.

    • Once the transaction has been completed successfully, an e-receipt will be generated.

    • Make an e-print of the receipt for future reference.
