Summary

As per the Railway Recruitment Board, the Non-Technical Popular Categories comprise of two distinct levels i.e. 5, and 6. The posts have been categorized as per the particular salary band and initial pay associated with the respective post. The 5th, and 6th are graduate posts.

The RRB NTPC Recruitment selection process will be based on the following mentioned stages.

1. CBT 1

2. CBT 2

3. Computer-Based Aptitude Test- CBAT (for Station Master) & Skill Test (Typist)

4. Document Verification & Medical Exam

The CBT 1 comprises of General Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. The CBT-1 paper duration will be 90 Minutes. There will be a total of 100 questions. Each question will be 1 mark. There will be a negative marking and 1/3 mark shall be deducted for each wrong answer.

The CBT 2 comprises of General Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence and Reasoning.

The CBT-2 paper duration will be 90 Minutes. There will be a total of 120 questions. Each question will be 1 mark. There will be a negative marking and 1/3 mark shall be deducted for each wrong answer.

RRB will conduct the typing skill test for the posts for Junior Account Assistant Cum Typist, Senior Clerk Cum Typist. The Typing Skill Test will be qualifying in nature i.e. marks obtained in typing skill test shall not be considered for making the merit list. The candidates have to type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on Personal Computer only without editing tools and a spell check facility.

Qualified candidates based on their performance in both 2nd Stage CBT and CBAT (computer-based aptitude test/TST), will be called for Document Verification as per their merit and options.

To fill the application form for Railway NTPC, the candidates have to pay a requisite application fee which has been set up by the exam conducting authority.

    Overview

    Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released the official notification for the RRB NTPC Graduate Level Recruitment 2024. Through this recruitment process, RRB will recruit 8113 vacancies for the posts of NTPC (Non-Technical Popular Categories) i.e. Chief Commercial Cum Ticket Supervisor, Station Master, Good Train Manager, Junior Account Assistant Cum Typist, Senior Clerk Cum Typist In various zonal railways and production units of Indian Railways. Candidates who have minimum educational qualification Bachelor Degree in Any Stream from Any Recognized University in India or its equivalent examination and are seeking a government jobs in Indian Railways can apply for Railway NTPC 2024 recruitment exam.

    Eligibility Criteria

    Essential Educational Qualifications:

    Age limit:

    The age limit for the posts is 18-36 yrs.

    (The lower and upper age limit indicated for the post(s) in the Vacancy Table will be reckoned as on 01.01.2025.)

     

    The relaxation in upper age limit / maximum upper age for the following categories/communities in the table below is applicable subject to the submission of requisite certificates.

    Syllabus

    Syllabus Computer Based Examination (CBT-I):

    The Questions will be of objective type with multiple choices and are likely to include questions pertaining to:

    a. Mathematics: Number System, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportions, Percentage, Mensuration, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Elementary Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, etc.

    b. General Intelligence and Reasoning: Analogies, Completion of Number and Alphabetical Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical Operations, Similarities and Differences, Relationships, Analytical Reasoning, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagrams, Puzzle, Data Sufficiency, Statement- Conclusion, Statement- Courses of Action, Decision Making, Maps, Interpretation of Graphs, etc.

    c. General Awareness: Current Events of National and International Importance, Games and Sports, Art and Culture of India, Indian Literature, Monuments and Places of India, General Science and Life Science (up to 10th CBSE), History of India and Freedom Struggle, Physical, Social and Economic Geography of India and World, Indian Polity and Governance- constitution and political system, General Scientific and Technological Developments including Space and Nuclear Program of India, UN and Other important World Organizations, Environmental Issues Concerning India and World at Large, Basics of Computers and Computer Applications, Common Abbreviations, Transport Systems in India, Indian Economy, Famous Personalities of India and World, Flagship Government Programs, Flora and Fauna of India, Important Government and Public Sector Organizations of India, etc

     

    Qualifying Eligibility Criteria:

    Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various categories:

    • UR/EWS - 40%

    • OBC (Non-creamy layer) - 30%

    • SC – 25%

    • ST - 30%.

    *These percentage of marks for eligibility may be relaxed by 2% for PwBD candidates in case of shortage of PwBD candidates against vacancies reserved for them.*

    Qualifying Eligibility Criteria:

    * The normalized marks scored by the candidate in the 2nd stage CBT shall be used for shortlisting the candidates for document verification for the posts which do not have a Typing Skill Test/Computer-based Aptitude Test. For the posts having Typing Skill Test/Computer-based Aptitude Test, the normalized marks scored by the candidate in the 2nd stage CBT shall be used for shortlisting the candidates for Typing Skill Test/Computer-based Aptitude Test.*

     

    Typing Skill Test (TST):

    For the posts, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, and Junior Time Keeper.

    The candidates should be able to type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on Personal Computer only without editing tools and spell check facility.

    * Typing Skill Test (TST) of qualifying nature (marks obtained in typing skill test shall not be added for making merit) shall be conducted for which the number of candidates equal to eight times the number of vacancies for each of the community shall be called for.*

    * The merit will be drawn only for the candidates qualified in the TST or TST exempted PwBD candidates based on performance in 2nd Stage CBT.*

    Application Fee

    Application Fee:

    Fee all candidates: Rs. 500/-

    Note: - Out of this fee of Rs 500 an amount of Rs 400 shall be refunded in due course duly deducting bank charges as applicable on appearing in CBT

    For PwBD / Female /Transgender/ Ex-Servicemen candidates and candidates belonging to SC/ST/Minority Communities/ Economically Backward Class: Rs. 250/- 

    Note:- This fee of Rs 250 shall be refunded in due course duly deducting bank charges as applicable on appearing in CBT.

    Mode of Payment:

    Fee can be paid by the candidates through ON LINE mode only. There will be no option to pay fee through any other mode.

    ONLINE fee payment through internet banking or debit/credit cards or UPI will CENTRALISED EMPLOYMENT NOTICE (CEN) NO. 05/2024 be accepted. All applicable service charges shall be borne by the candidate.
