The department conducts recruitment for various posts such as Jail Prahari. The last recruitment for Jail Prahari was held in 2018 when 670 vacancies were announced for different regions of the state. The selection process consisted of a written exam and a physical efficiency test. The candidates who qualified for the written exam were called for the physical test, which had different criteria for male and female candidates. The age limit for Jail Prahari is between 18 to 26 years. The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC, ST, and OBC candidates and by 10 years for female candidates.
