Summary

The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) conducts recruitment for the position of UP Police ASI. The UPPRPB fills vacancies for the positions of ASI (Clerk), and ASI (Accounts) through this recruitment. To be eligible for this UP Police ASI, candidates must be between the ages of 21 and 28 and have a bachelor's degree from an Indian university established by law, or an equivalent qualification. 

Candidates who apply for the UP Police ASI recruitment will have to go through a three-stage selection process (Online Exam, Documentation & Physical Standards Test, and Computer Typing & Stenography Test). The UP Police ASI written exam will consist of four different papers: General Knowledge/ Current Affairs, Mental Aptitude /Intelligence /Reasoning, Numerical & Mental Ability Test, and General Hindi/ Computer Knowledge. 

Applicants must complete the application form online. Candidates applying for the post of UP Police ASI Recruitment must pay an application fee established by the exam conducting authority in order to apply for the UP Police ASI Exam.

    Eligibility Criteria

    Essential Educational Qualifications for UP Police ASI and SI

    (A) For Sub Inspector of Police (Confidential) post

    (a) A bachelor's degree from an Indian university established by law, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the government.

    (b) Hindi typing (in Unicode on Inscript keyboard) with a speed of not less than 25 words per minute and English typing with a speed of not less than 30 words per minute.

    (c) Hindi shorthand dictation at the speed of minimum 80 words per minute. The candidates will be declared successful on the basis of the distinction determined by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Growth Board.

    (d) Must have passed “O” level examination in Computer from National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT Society) (formerly DOEACC Society) of Government of India or any qualification recognized by the Government as equivalent thereto.

     

    (B) For Police Assistant Sub Inspector (Clerk) post

    (a) A bachelor's degree from an Indian university established by law, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the government.

    (b) Hindi typing (in Unicode on Inscript keyboard) with a speed of not less than 25 words per minute and English typing with a speed of not less than 30 words per minute.

    (c) Must have passed “O” level examination in Computer from the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT Society) (formerly DOEACC Society), Government of India or any qualification recognized by the Government as equivalent thereto.

     

    (C) For Police Assistant Sub Inspector (Accounts) post

    (a) Bachelor's degree in Commerce or Master's Diploma in Accountancy from a University established by law in India or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Government.

    (b) Hindi typing (in Unicode on Inscript keyboard) at a speed of not less than 15 words per minute.

    (c) Must have passed “O” level examination in Computer from the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT Society) (formerly DOEACC Society), Government of India or any qualification recognized by the Government as equivalent thereto.

     

    Preferential Qualifications:

    Possess 'O' Level Certificate in Computer from DOEACC/NIELIT Society, or

    Graduated in Law from an Institution or College or University recognized by the University Grants Commission.

    Have served for at least two years served in the Territorial Army, or

    Possess 'B' certificate of National Cadet Corps

     

    Age limit for UP Police ASI and SI:

    The age limit of the applicants should be between 21 years to 28 years.

    *Candidates should be born between 01 July 1995 and 01 July 2002. (both date inclusive)*

    Important Note:

    I. Total Number of Question and Total Number of Marks are 200 and 400 respectively. 

    II. Duration of Examination is 150 minutes.

    III. For each correct answer candidate will get 2 marks.

    IV. There will be no negative for incorrect answers.

    V. The candidates will score at least 35% marks in each section and overall 40% marks.

    *Scrutiny of records and physical standard examination will be done by a committee constituted under the chairmanship of the Deputy Collector nominated by the District Magistrate, in which the Deputy Superintendent of Police is nominated by the Superintendent of Police of the district will be its member.*

    UP Police ASI and SI: Computer Typing & Stenography Test

    • The candidates found successful in the scrutiny of records and in the physical standard test will be expected to appear in the Computer Typing & Stenography Test which will be of Qualifying Nature.

    UP Police ASI and SI: Medical exam

    • Medical examination will be done by the Medical Council constituted by the Chief Medical Officer as per the Medical Manual and 'Police Recruitment Medical Examination Form'.

    • Candidates found unsuccessful in the medical test will be declared unfit by the appointing authority and such vacancies will be carried forward for further selection.
