  • The Department of Biotechnology (DBT) of the Government of India and the Government of Assam have signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under the BioE3 (Biotechnology for Economy, Environment and Employment) policy. 
  • This central-state partnership is the first of its kind under the BioE3 framework and aims to accelerate the high-performing biomanufacturing sector while promoting a sustainable biotechnology system in Assam. 
  • The signing of the memorandum is the result of extensive consultations, high-level meetings, and collaborative efforts between DBT and the Assam government.
